Thank you for your interest in the Versant RN Residency in Pediatrics at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
This program is designed to support our new graduate nurses transition into their nursing career and will begin March 9, 2020. It is a 22 week immersion program with one-on-one precepting, mentoring, and debriefing to support the new nurse throughout their first year. In the Heart Institute, the program prepares nurses to cross-train between the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit and Cardiovascular Acute Unit.
The Heart Institute was established at CHLA in 1993. About 900 patients are admitted each year, including children with the most complex diseases of the heart. The Heart Institute is the largest pediatric cardiology program on the West Coast, known as a worldwide leader in the treatment of heart disease (congenital or acquired) in children. We provide virtually every advanced treatment for all heart disorders and defects affecting children from neonate to young adult.
Minimum Requirements: New graduate or will graduate and will have a RN license by March 1, 2020 and will have less than one year of nursing experience in any nursing area. A BSN and AHA BLS is required.
