Cardiac Sonographer (Echocardiography Tech)

The cardiac subspecialty sonographer position requires being able to perform standard and complex congenital heart disease echocardiograms including 2-D, M-Mode, Doppler, color Doppler and tissue Doppler.  Echocardiograms for our patient population range from newborns to the young adult. Areas of service include out-patient, in-patient and may include off site clinics. This position also requires performance of ECGs, Holter monitor and Ziopatch hookup.  Call is required, but shared.

This pediatric cardiac sonographer position requires familiarity with varied ultrasound machines from different vendors.  Computer literacy and the ability to write a complete and timely preliminary report is required.  The applicant must be motivated and able to learn new skills such as fetal echocardiography.   The position requires good communication skills, the ability to follow directions and work with a team.

Minimum Education: A.S. Degree in a cardiovascular technology through an accredited program, Bachelor's degree preferred. 

Minimum Experience:  Pediatric experience is preferred.  One year of experience is preferred.

License, Registration or Certification required: ARMS registry are required.  

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:  The position requires patience and compassion in order to work with pediatric patients and their families. Good written and oral communication skills and demonstrated organizational skills.
