The Clinical Manager / Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit (NICCU) has primary responsibility to provide clinical leadership and expertise, partner with the interdisciplinary team to integrate evidence-based care, advance clinical practice, facilitate transitions in care, and translate and conduct research The Clinical Manager / CNS will
share responsibility with the education and operations manager to provide leadership for the 58-bed NICCU. While maintaining a team approach to the shared responsibilities, the Clinical Manager / CNS will function independently as needed in all aspects of the work area operations on a 24-hour basis. will supervise work area staff that have completed orientation with emphasis on clinical development and will collaborate with others to achieve the goals and objectives of the work area. The Clinical Manager / CNS will advance nursing practices through the development of policies and guidelines.

- The Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Program at the Newborn and Infant Critical Care Unit at CHLA was designated as a Center of Excellence by the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
5 + years of Level III or IV NICU experience required. Previous CNS supervisory experience preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certification: Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school required.
Current professional California CA RN Licensure BLS, PALS, NRP and Clinical Nurse Specialist license are all required
