Respiratory Care Practitioner (12hr) / Transport

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (12hr) is conducts patient assessments, assists with the development of the plan of care, provides and evaluates general, basic patient care with assistance to an assigned group of patients according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care.
Minimum Education: Graduate of an A.M.A. approved two-year School of Respiratory Care. 
Minimum Experience: One year experience as a CHLA RCP I, or two years critical care experience in pediatrics PICU and NICCU.
License, Registration or Certification Required: RCP license from the state of California. Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the NBRC. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), specifically Health Care Provider, certification. Additional competencies may be required by the work location.
Skills Required: Broad knowledge of respiratory care principles and equipment; CHLA patient care policies and procedures. Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care; maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies; prioritize tasks for complex patient care; communicate tactfully, professionally and effectively, verbally and in writing.
